Released
- December 1995
Way back in !994/5 Opus released the first of the Opus series.
Being 8 years old now [ in 2003 ], its become a bit of a
collectors item as only 500 copies were ever pressed. Opus
Collective Volume 1 stands as a great reminder of the amount
of electronic talent coming out of Melbourne at that time,
surviving in what was then a very 'grunge rock' dominated
period.
The Following is a write up given
to the CD from Transmission
Communications, an independent Australian record label
specialising in progressive innovative electronica -
The Opus Collective are a batch
of like-minded electronic based artists based in Melbourne.
It's a cross-generational thing too, Real Life [ authors
of 80s gigantaur Send Me An Angel ] release their
first new song in a number of years. This Digital Ocean
get dancing industrial-style, Sine do everything David Bowie
attempted on his current album, Subliminal Playground do
the house thing, Voiteck serves up some acid techno, Josh
Abrahams [ FSOM ] speeds things up as the Pagan, while Ikon
flashback to the early 80's with their doom-laden visions.
Also features First World, LND, Foil, Xaeja, Ease, Mutagenic
Mind and Shockwave.
